This morning was an early start, we left Jaipur before the sunrise and made our way to Agra for the Red Fort and Taj Mahal. We stopped for breakfast at the Umaid Lake Palace - kind of a swanky looking resort/hotel almost something from a movie. As I wandered around after breakfast it was weird being able to hear several different birds, plus chickens and roosters, plus the highway...
Gardens at Umaid Lake Palace.
We arrived at Agra a little bit after 1 and set off for a tour of the Red Fort - so amazing - not really as famous as the Taj, but extremely rich in history. Certainly a highlight for me.
First gate, there used to be a moat with crocodile, and the inner moat was dry - but had tigers.
The architecture again was amazing.
This is all sandstone with other rocks inlaid.
Marble inlaid with other stones - it looks like paint- but it is rock.
And one of the best views of the Taj.
Speaking of ...
This is just the entrance to the main grounds- the stone work is amazing and the design is phenomenal.

In adding this picture - wow! I can’t believe I am here?!?
Stone work is incredible.
Sunset...
So many people.
Maybe you were hoping I had a photo from this angle? Yep I do!
Tomorrow we head to Orccha (probably not spelling that correctly) we travel there by train... should be interesting.
Wow! Where is the icon for most amazing wonderful photos?
