So an 8 hour drive only took 16 hours...
Today was a travel day, we moved from the Western Ghat escarpment further into the interior and north to Aurangabad. We stopped at a weekly market near the Nira River, on our way to an ash deposit that is potentially related to the Toba eruption (maybe - the dates are a bit wonky and as it turns out the preservation and stratigraphic position might be a bit questionable - at least where we were). The up side though was that there were a lot of exposed and easily accessible Deccan basalts - travel size!
Culture alert - women usually don’t drink, and they certainly don’t go to the shop to buy beer ... end sum, someone else will have to do it.
Also 16 hours on the bus makes everyone a little crazy- mix beer (or wine) into that at about hour 14 and you are left with a weird kind of multi-lingual, karaoke. No one on the bus missed out on a singing career...
Author’s note - Astros in 7? Wish I had seen that game.
Goodbye Ghats.
Super warm...
Potatoes at the market.
Chilies!!! So many chilies.
Looking for Toba.
Bus Karaoke? Maybe you are traveling Rock Stars and not just Rock Hunters. xo
