The conference is finished! Complete with a crazy gala dinner last night and one more long day of talks and poor air quality today (and a trip to the Kebab place). What a week, great research, great experiencing a new city, and now I can't wait to check out Darjeeling (I need to be at the airport tomorrow for 7:45am, so we are leaving the hotel at 7, still need to pack, and 7am Delhi time, is different than leaving at 7am in any other city I have ever visited).
| Me being a bit creepy, waiting for the bus to the gala, we have a WhatsApp group and we were looking for eachother, so I snuck around and took creepy selfies with people from the group (maybe this is one of those things where you needed to be there. This also shows a major fashion breakthrough for me - pink AND yellow at the same time - it's crazy). |

| Slightly focused (or out of focus) picture of Anne and me, as we arrived at the gala a bindi or talik (it wasn't explained) was put on everyone's forehead, and some of us got some flower petals thrown on us... that are still turning up a day later. |
| Katya and Dima - geomorphologists from Russia that were also on the Deccan field trip. Katya's father was the lead geomorphologist for the Soviet Union, so she comes to the field honestly :). It was really special to meet these two and I hope to see them again. |
| Me and two world famous geomorphologists (Olav Slaymaker (Canada) and Katya Lebedeva (Russia)). |
| The original kids table (Deccan Plateau field trippers). This was one of approximately 20 attempts - it is sort of the best... yikes, no wonder no one else wanted to sit with us. |
| New friends! Three of these people are also going on the Darjeeling Trip (Anne, James (tall guy in the middle) and we are trading German Martin for British Martin - two guys on the right). |
| Alas - my last supper at the kebab place. So tasty, I honestly would come back to India just for the Paneer Afghani roll (and probably butter chicken, and the sound track, and that they were always SO happy to see us). |

This is the best video I managed of us walking into the Gala - it was way louder - and it was awesome. A really unique experience.
Now that's the way to be welcomed to dinner!
