Pune - Part 2

First things first - I got my bag!!!  I am just back to our hotel after a bit of a journey to the airport and back ~20km, so ya I get why that takes an hour one way (nope). It also requires asking the same question a number of times (for an hour) to get my bag - summary is what’s important here - I got my bag back.
The visit to the university of Pune was really nice, there was a formal greeting and tea with the department, followed by an informative introduction to the Deccan Traps and the geology of the area we are visiting. Then we had a tour of the department and the initial university building (once the formal head of the state building).
Tomorrow we had for the laterite tablelands (I think or we do that the next day). If I play my cards right I won’t be at another airport until Sunday - wahoo!

Delegates (that’s what everyone is calling us), and members of the department of geography outside after the formal introductions, presentation and tour.

The fancy smancy building - the blocks are basalt that came from an adjacent quarry.

My Bag!!!! I am afraid to open it.
Goodnight!

  1. Hmmm ... there is a building that looks an awful lot like that down on the waterfront in Kingston. They give tours there too. Don't get left behind!
